Editorial Policy

Replication and Extension of Results
ZIREB expects from authors the highest standards of integrity in research. Papers submitted to ZIREB should include enough information to allow a reasonably qualified researcher to replicate the results.
ZIREB requires that authors of manuscripts submitted share additional details of their research when requested by the Editor. In addition, during the review process the editor may request additional materials—including data.

Intellectual Property
ZIREB is committed to the protection of intellectual property. When materials are requested during the review period, they will be subject to the ZIREB’s double-blind peer-review process in order to maintain author anonymity. Reviewers will not use ideas from or show another person the manuscript without the permission of the author.

Misrepresentation of Data
ZIREB expects all submissions to include data that are honestly and correctly reported according to the best practices of publishing.

Simultaneous Reviews
ZIREB policy prohibits that an article under review at ZIREB is simultaneously reviewed at another journal without prior discussion with and written permission from the Editor.

Plagiarism
ZIREB requires that all submissions follow the highest ethical standards and best practices in publishing. All writing and research submitted to ZIREB is expected to present accurate information and to properly cite all content referenced from other papers.
To plagiarize means “to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one’s own,” “use (another’s production) without crediting the source,” or to “present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source” (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/plagiarize, November, 2014). It is also unacceptable to submit manuscripts to ZIREB which have previously been published anywhere in any language. The authors’ should inform the Editor upon submission if there is any doubt whether a manuscript may violate these terms.

Resubmissions
Manuscripts that have been rejected are not eligible for further consideration for publication in ZIREB.

Conflicts of Interest
A conflict of interest may exist when a manuscript author has a substantial direct or indirect financial interest in the subject matter of the manuscript. Authors should state any financial support or relationship that may pose a conflict of interest as a "Disclosure Statement".

Protecting Intellectual Property
Protecting intellectual property is a responsibility of the reviewer and the editor. Reviewers will not use ideas from or show another person the manuscript they have been asked to review without the explicit permission of the manuscript's author, obtained through the journal editor. Advice regarding specific, limited aspects of the manuscript may be sought from colleagues with specific expertise, provided the author’s identity and intellectual property remain secure.

Review Process
Author submits manuscript via https://www.editorialmanager.com/zireb/ with request for Editor in Chief who performs initial check. After initial check Editor in Chief sends it back to author (desk rejection) or assigns Managing Editor who invites two reviewers. All reviews use a double-blind review process. Reviewers submit their recommendations to Managing Editor. Managing Editor makes decision (Accept/Reject/Revision) and notifies Editor in Chief who makes final decision and notifies author about final decision.
Reviewers and journal editors are expected to provide comments and critiques in a confidential, constructive, prompt, and unbiased manner appropriate for their position of responsibility. The editor has the final authority for the acceptance or rejection of any article.
