On April 5 and 6, 2022, a transnational meeting was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb (FEBZG UNIZG) within the project of the strategic partnership in the field of higher education entitled "Teaching Sustainability in Higher Education in the Field of Economics and Management" (SUSTA) financed by Erasmus + funds. Representatives of the institutions participating in the project (Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Poznaniu UEP, Slovenska Polnohospodarska Univerzita v Nitre, Ceska Zemedelska Univerzita v Praze, Szegedi Tudomanyegyetem, Universidad Miguel Hernandez de Elche) visited FEBZG, and were hosted by SUSTA project participant at FEBZG.
On the first day, the project manager is dr hab. Bartłomiej Pierański, prof. UEP gave an introductory speech, and the participants of the transnational meeting were greeted by assoc. prof. dr. sc. Zoran Wittine, Vice Dean for Human Resources and Infrastructure and by prof. dr. sc. Blaženka Knežević as the local SUSTA project coordinator. Then prof. dr. sc. Barbara Borusiak and Ana Rep, PhD summarized the work done so far on the intellectual outputs of the project. The final version of the syllabus for the new course in the sustainability field has been agreed and the structure of the accompanying book has been set up. A discussion on the preparation of case studies followed and then prof. dr. sc. Blaženka Knežević and doc. dr. sc. Mate Damić presented a case study in the field of trade and distribution on the topic of Innovative business model of intersectoral cooperation in the management of surpluses in food supply chains.
Then followed presentation of cases: Implementation of sustainability in the field of tourism in the case of the island of Mali Lošinj (Assoc. Prof. Vanja Krajinović, PhD) and The humanitarian initiative of Croatian Catholic Sisters to reduce poverty in Congo (Assoc. Prof. Ivana Marić, PhD). At the end of the working day, the participants visited Tesla's laboratory at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum, where they were introduced to the character and work of Nikola Tesla and his famous experiments. The purpose was to raise awareness that Tesla is not an electric car but a historical figure who has indebted the world with his inventions in the field of alternating current, electrical induction, telecommunications and free energy transmission.
On the second day of the transnational meeting, participants discussed scientific papers to be written within the new intellectual output and events with multiplier effect to be held and whic will include local experts from non-profit organizations and university teachers of local higher education institutions not directly involved in the project and business trainers in all countries where the project is implemented. The date of the summer course to be held in Prague has been defined and the financial and administrative aspects of the project have been analyzed. The meeting concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants.
