The aim of the Department of International Economics is to provide education to business and economics majors and to conduct research with the purpose of deeper understanding of contemporary globalisation processes and regional integration, based on theory, analysis and politics of international trade and finance and contemporary forms of international business. We emphasize developmental problems of small open economies in the environment of trade and financial liberalisation and international integration and stimulate analytical and research interest in the field of international economics and business.
The department's primary concern is courses that provide knowledge and skills necessary for the analysis of market tendencies and risk management in international exchange of goods and services; managerial, commercial and other skills necessary for indepedendent work and decision-making on the demanding globalised market.
