Professor Danijela Miloš Sprčić was born in Novska in 1976. She holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in Finance from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, where she has been employed since 1999 at the Department of Managerial Economics. She received her PhD in 2007 from the University of Greenwich Business School in the field of Risk Management. She was elected Assistant professor in 2008, Associate professor in 2013, and Full professor in 2018. She holds a position of Visiting professor at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. Professor Miloš Sprčić created and introduced several courses in the curriculum of the Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb - Risk Management course which is taught at “the Integrated University Programme of Business Economics”, Corporate Risk Management which is performed at the internationally accredited undergraduate programme "Bachelor's Degree in Business -BDiB”, course Strategic Risk Management taught at the postgraduate professional programme “Master in Business Administration - MBA” and the course Risk Management at the postgraduate professional programme “Financial Analysis”. Professor Miloš Sprčić also coordinates and teaches the course Fundamentals of Business Finance at the professional undergraduate programme “Accounting and Finance”, MBA course Financial Management and Corporate finance at the postgraduate programmes “Accounting and Taxes” and “Financial Reporting, Auditing and Analysis”. She is also teaching the course Corporate Finance at “the Integrated University Programme”.
 
She has authored or co-authored more than 50 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and professional journals, several monographs and editorial books, as well as professional studies and projects. Areas of research interest are business finance, risk analysis and measurement, enterprise (integrated) risk management systems, risk analysis in the energy sector, company valuation, business analysis and financial market development. Her papers have been published in reputable international publications such as Risk Management, Research in International Business and Finance, E a M: Ekonomie a Management, EuroMed Journal of Business, Electrical Power and Energy Systems, Journal of Destination Marketing and Management, Zagreb International Review of Economics and Business (ZIREB), Montenegrin Journal of Economics, Economic Review, Financial Theory and Practice, etc. Her independent work "Outlook of the Croatian Corporate Bond Market Development" published in 2004 in the journal Financial Theory and Practice was awarded the annual awards "Dr. Marijan Hanžeković ”and“ Mijo Mirković” for 2004, and the independent work “Corporate Risk Management Rationales: Evidence from Croatian Companies” published in the Economic Review was awarded the annual“ Mijo Mirković ”award for 2007. In 2013, Danijela Miloš Sprčić received the annual "Mijo Mirković" award for the monograph "Risk Management - Basic Concepts, Strategies and Instruments" in a category of independent work with a special contribution to the development of economic science.
 
From 2014 to 2017, Danijela Miloš Sprčić led international research project "The Impact of Integrated Risk Management on Company’s Performance after the Global Financial Crisis" funded by the University of Zagreb, which involved cooperation with the research teams from USC Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California and the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. From 2014 to 2017, she was a member of the research team on the multidisciplinary project “Electric Vehicle Battery Swapping Station” led by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb and funded by the Croatian Science FoundationShe is a team member of the multidisciplinary research project "Networked stationary battery storage tanks" funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds under the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Cohesion” for the period 2019-2022. Project leader is the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing while the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb and Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Information Technologies, University of Osijek are partners.
 
Professor Miloš Sprčić is a member of the International Association of Professional Risk Managers (PRMIA) and the Croatian Association of Corporate Treasurers. She is an invited lecturer at academic and professional conferences in the field of finance, risk management, corporate governance and auditing. Through her professional activities and projects of knowledge transfer, she cooperated with the Croatian Air-traffic Controlling Company, Ekonerg, Croatian Lottery, Croatian Electric Power Industry, Podravka Company, Ericsson Nikola Tesla Company, Croatian Exporters, Croatian Chamber of Auditors, Croatian Association of Accountants and Financial Professionals and other organizations.
 
Danijela Miloš Sprčić is married and the mother of two children.
