The project Sustainable Development in Your Hands

Zagrebačka banka d.d. (hereinafter: the Bank) as the project holder and partners - Ernst & Young Savjetovanje d.o.o., Socijalna zadruga Humana Nova and Feelsgood Capital Partners d.o.o. (hereinafter: Partners) in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb (hereinafter: the Faculty of Economics & Business) organize a project for students entitled "Sustainable Development in Your Hands", which includes a full set of lectures and participation in the competition for the best project proposal on the topic of sustainability (ESG).

In accordance with Article 26 of the General Data Protection Regulation, the partners are the joint processing manager for the purpose of conducting the tender and selecting the best project proposals. All Partners participate in the Tender Committee which evaluates and selects the best project proposals.
 
1. Description of the Project 
The Project consists of a set of lectures on ESG and sustainability by representatives of the Bank and partners. Lectures will be held in the form in accordance with epidemiological measures. ESG is an acronym for "Environmental Social Governance". The environmental criterion considers how the company relates to the environment, the social criterion discerns how it treats employees and the community in which it operates while the management criteria relate to the manner, procedures, controls, and reports
which are managed by the system. This project aims to promote the ESG model and the concept of sustainability, as part of the Bank's strategic approach to conducting financial education for young people.
 
2. Who can participate?
Students of the Faculty of Economics & Business can participate in the project, as follows:
  • Undergraduate and graduate integrated students
  • Undergraduate students of professional study
  • Students of specialist graduate professional study
  • Postgraduate students of specialist study 
 
3. Project duration
The project will be organized at the beginning of the academic year 2021/2022.
Lectures will be led by representatives of Zagrebačka banka and Partners and will be conducted online or live, depending on epidemiological measures and possibilities. Each lecture will last one hour and will include a presentation part and a part for discussion with students.
  • The duration of the project is planned in the period from October 18 to December 2, 2021, and consists of the following phases:
  • Lectures - October 18 - 27, 2021
  • Tender for the best project proposal - open from October 29 to November 12, 2021.
  • Work of the Committee - 12 - 19 November 2021
  • Announcement of finalists - November 22, 2021
  • A second round of the competition - November 22 - 29, 2021
  • Winners announcement - beginning of December 2021
 
4. Which project proposals can be applied for
The submitted project proposals must be thematically related to the ESG concept, ie one of the following areas:
  • E - Environmental - proposals related to environmental protection
  • S - Social - proposals related to the social segment
  • G - Governance - proposals related to management
Each student can apply for one project independently.
 
5. Prizes for the best proposals
From the total number of received project proposals, the Expert Committee will select five finalists. Finalists will be allowed to compete further for the top three prizes.
The amount of the main prize for the winning project proposal, according to the selection of the Expert Committee, is 3,000 kunas. The amount of the second prize is 2,000 kunas, and the third 1,000 kunas. Prizes will be awarded to students on the Bank's gift card. In addition to financial prizes, the winners have the opportunity to do a student internship lasting a month in Zagrebačka banka or another private company Partner on the project.
 
6. Criteria for project selection
All received project proposals will be evaluated by an Expert Committee, and project scoring will be done according to the following criteria:
  • Innovation and technical solution - 40%
  • Market - 40%
  • Applicant competencies - 10%
  • Idea presentation - 10%

7. Who makes up the Expert Committee?
The members of the Expert Committee are representatives of the Bank, the Faculty of Economics & Business, and representatives of the Partners - private companies.
The Committee has 5 members, of which a representative of the Bank is the President. The president determines the order in which individual projects will be evaluated. Each member of the Committee will give his / her grade proposal (0-5) and the points of all members of the Committee will be added up and divided by the number of members of the Committee. The first five ranked projects enter the second round of the competition. If there are several projects during the evaluation that have the same number of points and share the fifth place, the project that had the highest number of points awarded by the President of the Committee goes further. If in such a case several projects share the fifth place, the one that has the most points goes further.

8. Terms of Application
Applications for project proposals will be considered exclusively under the following conditions:
  • the application was sent within the prescribed period;
  • the application is sent via the application form available under these Terms;
  • application forms are duly and completely filled out and sent to the e-mail address sib@unicreditgroup.zaba.hr 
  • the student has a permanent residence in the territory of the Republic of Croatia

9. Application for the tender
The project proposal is applied following these instructions together with its documentation and submitted to the e-mail sib@unicreditgroup.zaba.hr in
by the prescribed deadline no later than 23:59 on 12 November 2021.
After applying for the tender to the e-mail address sib@unicreditgroup.zaba.hr  the Bank will forward the complete application forms to the Partners.
The application documentation consists of the following documentation:
  • application form;
  • additional attachments - technical or other documentation or information related to the project proposal being submitted; photographs, records, presentation, and other material related to the project proposal.
Additional attachments are optional. It is possible to apply up to 5 attachments to the application form. These attachments can be PDF documents up to the total size of 10MB together. An incomplete application form will not be considered.

The information stated in the application form must be true and are subject to verification by the Faculty of Economics & Business in the form of whether the project has been submitted by the student at the Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb. In case of identified irregularities or inaccuracies in the documentation, the reported project will not be taken further evaluation.
 
10. The process of the election
  • The Expert Committee will review the received project proposals and select the five best ones that will enter the second round of the competition, ie the final selection for the best three project proposals.
  • in the second round of the competition, the finalists will additionally prepare and present their projects before the Expert Committee, which will then decide on the winning projects. Finalists will be optionally informed about the manner and content of the final presentation.
  • in the event that one of the selected finalists withdraws from the second round of the competition, the next ranked participant from the ranking selected outside the originally selected five finalists, who met all the criteria according to the evaluation of the Expert Committee, will be invited to the second round.
  • the main three prizes will be awarded to the best project proposals selected by the Expert Committee in the same way as prescribed for the first round of the competition.
All participants of the contest will be notified of the results at the award ceremony for the contest winners. The bank will notify the finalists via contact
data from the application form on the exact date of the award ceremony and the announcement of the winner. After the announcement of the winner, the results will be published via the website www.zaba.hr and the social networks of Zagrebačka banka. The decision of the Committee is final and no appeal is allowed.
 
11. Other information
This project was announced on the internal and external channels of the Faculty of Economics & Business, which will thus promote the project.
