Career overview:
Kosjenka Dumančić is Full Professor at the Department of Business Law and strategic director for projects at Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb where she works since 2005. She defended her doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb in 2011. From 2020 to 2024 she was a Vice Dean for two terms, first as Vice Dean for International cooperation and projects and after as Vice Dean for Strategic Partnerships and projects. From 2020 to 2022 she was the first director of the Institute for Euro-Asian studies. From 2024 she is director of the Institute for the Postindustrial transition. Apart from teaching she is active in her scientific work having participated in numerous European and international scientific projects. She publishes in international scientific journals and participates at international conferences as a speaker, panelist or researcher. She authored and co-authored more than 15 book chapters. She speaks English and French fluently.
Research areas:
Her main research fields of interest include European Law, Commercial Law and Company Law with specialisation in free movement of services and digital platform economy. She is associate editor in “Eastern journal of European Studies EJES” published by Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Iasi, Romania and in Slovenian journal “Our economy” published by the Faculty of Economics in Maribor, Maribor, Slovenia.
External activity:
Professor Dumančić is an active member in international projects such as Erasmus, COST, Horizon Europe and others. She is a team member of the HORIZON Europe projects, European coordination network and activities to embrace a sustainable and inclusive STEAM educational system: the blend of artistic and creative approaches in STEM education, research & innovation (STEAMbrace) and Consumers’ Understanding of Eating Sustainably (CUES). She is a FEB coordinator of Erasmus+ capacity building higher Education project ME+study in English!, coordinated by University of Podgorica, Montenegro (2023-2027); FEB coordinator of Erasmus+ European University alliance UNIC 2.0 and coordinator of TL5 in Entrepreneurship, coordinated by Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands (2023-2027); coordinator of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet teachers training project “Solidary Europe for inclusive Society” (EUsolis), FEB, Croatia (2022-2025); senior expert at Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence European Financial Resilience and Regulation (EUFIRE-RE), Alexandra Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania(2022-2025). Also she participated as a member of the project team at FEB of the project “Teaching institutional Resilience and prompt reaction to crisis: Good governance experiences in Europe” (TERRAG) coordinator University of Iceland (2020-2023); project team member and coordinator at the Faculty of Economics of the European University European Alliance Initiative UNIC, Erasmus University coordinator, Netherlands, (2020-2023); coordinator at FEB of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project “Higher Education curricula Development on the collaborative economy in Europe” (COLECO), coordinated by Leeds Becket University, UK (2029-2021). She is participating in different COST Horizon founded projects. She is a Programme Manager of the Academy for women entrepreneurs, funded by the American embassy, 2024-2025. Also, Professor Dumančić is an evaluator of the COST and Erasmus+ projects.
