Exhibition "FINA through history" set up on the occasion of Information Technology Day

On Monday, June 6, the exhibition of FINA's old machines entitled "FINA through history" was set up in the library premises at the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb. The exhibition was set up as part of the celebration of Information Technology Day and Interdepartmental Day, as well as the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Department of Management Informatics at the Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb.

The exhibition shows the evolution of financial business processes from paper technology, through computerization, to entering the e-world and digital world. As early as the late 1970s, FINA, then SDK (Social Accounting Service), was a leader in researching new digital and electronic technologies in business processes.

It all begun with the first electronic money transfers, which started with long distance transmission in the late 70's, which through TK (telecommunication data transfer) technology in the 80's and early 90's grew into e-payment orders and smart electronic forms today.

Through the exibition setup of machines, starting from the so-called "hurdy-gurdy" which served as a calculator in the 60's, through teleprinters for messaging, document duplicators as a precursor to today's copiers to "Petty-Data" for business information can track business development and how much it has changed in the last 60 years.

The first PC appeared in the mid-1980s, and opportunities for use in business applications began to be explored. With the help of telephone orders introduced in 1987, the transfer of payment orders by telephone was ensured, and during the 1990s electronic transactions were switched on, while information on invoices and fax statements was received by e-mail or SMS.

During the 2000s, the submission of reports on diskettes was introduced, and the payment system and the pension system were reformed. Also, FINA starts with electronic business, i.e. the exchange of documents / information between business partners.

In the last two decades, digital development has become faster, more comprehensive and spreads to many fields of the business world. Registers are being established, data are being collected, and FINA is becoming a central place for reliable information on business operations and overall trends in the Croatian economy. The development of Internet technologies has enabled access and submission of data through the web services RGFI, JRR, Register of Concessions, e-signature, e-payment, info.BIZ, e-REGOS, e-pension, e-VAT.

Today, FINA is a leading Croatian company in the field of providing financial, electronic and data services, which has developed NIAS, ePass, e-Invoice, e-Signature, e-Archive and many others. Our vision is to be the driving force and key bearer of the digitalization of society, and the users of our services include financial institutions, state and public bodies, businesses and citizens.
