Antonija Buljan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, Croatia. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the Faculty of Economics, University of Split. She earned her Ph.D. in 2020 from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, with summa cum laude distinction. She joined the faculty in 2016. At FEB, she teaches the following courses: Public Finance, Fiscal Policy, and FinancingSocial Activities in the integrated undergraduate and graduate program, as well as Public Finance in the English-language undergraduate program (Bachelor Degree in Business).
In 2020, she was awarded the Dr. Pero Jurković award for her doctoral dissertation, titled “The Impact of Changes in VAT Rates on Consumer Prices in the Republic of Croatia”. Antonija Buljan has served as a mentor for numerous seminar papers and graduate theses. She actively publishes both independently and in collaboration, contributing to international and domestic journals. Furthermore, she has continually enhanced her education through participation in various scientific and professional conferences and workshops. Her research interests focus on public finance, fiscal policy, tax policy and local finance. She has also been involved in research projects funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, including Tax Policy and Fiscal Consolidation in Croatia and The Sustainability of Public Finances on the Path to Monetary Union.
