As part of the Information Technology Day 2022, organized by the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Economics & Business - Zagreb on the 50th anniversary of the Management Informatics major, the 6th Interdepartmental Conference of Business Informatics took place on June 9, 2022.
The Interdepartmental Conference of Business Informatics is a traditional gathering of teachers and associates at higher education institutions in the field of business informatics, which was held for the first time in 2015 at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Split. The meeting is organized to get to know each other teachers and encourage scientific-teaching cooperation.
The host of the 2022 Interdepartmental Conference was the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb, and the topic of this year's Interdepartmental Conference of Business Informatics was 50 years of the IT major at the Faculty of Economics & Business - Zagreb. The meeting was opened by the Vice Dean for Students, Teaching and Digitization, Assoc. Prof. Božidar Jaković, Ph.D., and the head of the Department of Informatics Prof. Mirjana Pejić Bach, Ph.D.. The program started with the presentation of Prof. Ivan Strugara, Ph.D., through which a historical overview of the 50 years of the Managerial Informatics major, which was at the very beginning called "Information Systems in Common Business". Prof. Vesna Bosilj Vukšić, Ph.D., introduced then the teaching materials, and Prof. Mirjana Pejić Bach, Ph.D., presented the Department's scientific and project activities, followed by a panel on "Professional practice in IT companies/departments". The mentioned panel was attended by Prof. Ph.D. Mario Jadrić, Ph.D., (Faculty of Economics, University of Split), Assoc. Prof. Darko Etinger, Ph.D., (Faculty of Informatics, Jurja Dobrila University in Pula), Assoc. Prof. Ljubica Milanović Glavan, Ph.D., (Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb), Assist. Prof. Katarina Pažur Aničić, Ph.D., (Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb) and Mr. Saša Mitrović, MA oec., (Faculty of Economics in Osijek, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University). The speakers presented how professional practice is carried out at their institutions, which was followed by a constructive discussion among the gathered audience. The meeting ended with a reception and an informal gathering at the end of the program.
Besides members of the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Economics & Business - Zagreb, the 6th Interdepartmental Conference of Business Informatics was attended by representatives of eight faculties in the Republic of Croatia. That were the Faculty of Economics of the University of Split; the Faculty of Economics and Tourism Dr. Mijo Mirković - Pula; Faculty of Informatics, the University of Juraj Dobrila in Pula; Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb; Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Rijeka; Department of Economics, University of Zadar; Faculty of Economics, University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek; and Faculty of Economics, the University of Rijeka.
