The Student competition Launcher has started, and the rich cash prizes and robots are expecting the best.
The students from across Croatia with its innovative business model can apply for a competition Launcher by May 15. The best three ideas will be awarded with cash prizes in total amount of 9000 HKN and two STEMI hexapod robots.
The Student Information Corner Association has opened a contest called Launcher in order to introduce the social entrepreneurship and to create business models through business model canvas methodology to students.
Humanity is, indeed, facing many problems - from poverty, inequality and maintenance of world peace to climate changes and biodiversity loss. An overview of such problems has given UN the set of 17 self-sustainable development goals. In response to these challenges in the last hundred years, emerged so-called social entrepreneurship, which to the first place is putting, precisely, solving social problems.
All students (regular and extraordinary) who are studying at one of the Croatian universities, polytechnics or high schools, who are Croatian citizens, may participate in the student competition. Participation is possible individually or in a team of two person. The task of the participants of the Launcher is to make its first step in entrepreneurship - to choose one of the default categories (Health, Education, Conservation of Food and Water Quality - Production, Peace and Security, Economics) and to design an innovative business model that will address an important social problem within it.
In the first online part of the competition they will conduct their business model canvas according to all guidelines in the prescribed form and the solutions should be sent by May 15, 2019. Ten selected finalists will verbally presented their solutions to the jury in the final of the competition scheduled for May 29, 2019 - in pitch format.
At the closing ceremony, the first three participants (team) will receive, according to the jury selection composed of the representatives of the Association, STEMI company, partner in the competition and the OTP Bank as sponsor, the following prizes:
1st place - 4500 HKN + STEAM hexapod
2nd place - 2500 HKN + STEAM hexapod
3rd place - 2000 HKN
STEMI hexapods will handed over at the very end, and the OTP Bank's cash prizes will be paid after completion by the OTP Bank to the Mastercard prepaid card in the total amount to one participant (if the student has independently participated in the competition) or will be split into equal amounts and paid to each of the participants if there were two persons in the team.
