Career overview Mate Damić is an Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics and Business, whose current research projects primarily focus on quality management in healthcare and evaluating healthcare policies. His scholarly contributions include numerous publications, conference presentations, and active involvement in research projects, especially those focused on quality management, resilience and organizational innovativeness. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for a number of scientific journals including the Journal of Small Business Management, InterEU Law East, International Journal for Quality Research, Zbornik Ekonomskog fakulteta u Zagrebu, and Business Excellence. Additionally, he is a member of scientific committees for several international scientific conferences. He has a proven track record of successfully completing complex scientific projects with a focus on quantitative data analysis including:
Resilience Enhancing Policies: Exploring the Role of Public Grants (2021-2023), funded by the Croatian Science Foundation; ERASMUS+ Project SUSTA (2021-2023), which aims to build educational capacity; Supply Chain Innovations in Retail (2016-2018), analyzing the impacts of retail internationalization on supply chains.
He was a visiting scholar at Bayes Business School, London (formerly Cass Business School) from September to December 2017 and is currently an Academic Fellow at Bocconi University’s Centre for Research on Health and Social Care Management (March 2024-March 2025). He furthered his expertise by attending the Paris School of Economics Summer School program on International Trade in June-July 2022. Additionally, he holds CQI IRCA ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.
