A new panel on the actualities and competition policy The Bundeskartellamt decision on Facebook - new forms of exploitative abuses in digital markets will be held on May 28, 2019 in Hall 2 starting at 5 pm.
This panel will deal with the very current issue of market competition in digital markets, in particular the issue of abuse of dominant position by Facebook. Big interest triggered decision of the German Bundeskartellamt that condemned Facebook due to the abuse of a ruling position in February 2019. Mr. Marco Botta, PhD, a researcher from the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Market Research in Munich, will discuss this decision and the related decision of the Italian competition authority as well as the wider context of the ambiguity surrounding the application of the competition rules to the technological giant a competition .
