Jakša Krišto, PhD is an Associate Professor at the Department of Finance. He has been employed at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb since 2006. He graduated in 2004 at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, at the Department of Finance. In 2007 he got his Master’s Degree at the Faculty of Economics, University of Split at the postgraduate study “Finance and Insurance” and received his PhD in 2012 at the doctoral programme of Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb with the thesis “
Managing risk exposure of institutional investors through introducing capital requirements“. He has been employed as P&C underwriter at Croatia Insurance Company from 2004 to 2006. Since 2006, he has been employed at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb at Department of Finance as a teaching assistant, from 2012 as senior assistant, from 2016 as Assistant Professor and from 2021 as
Associate Professor. He has been teaching courses “Financial institutions and markets”, “Institutional investors’ management” and “Commercial Banking”. He is holding course “Nonbanking financial institutions” at the post-graduate study “Financial institutions and markets”. He has been additionally educated and held presentations at both foreign and domestic, scientific and professional conferences and workshops within his scientific and professional interests which are: financial sector, institutional investors, contemporary changes in financial sector, regulatory framework, capital requirements, risk and solvency management. He is a member of different working groups and steering committees within Insurance Europe and Croatian Insurance Bureau. He has been the author or co-author of more than 40 scientific and policy papers.
