Assoc. Professor Petra Barišić Ph.D. is a research assistant in the Department of Tourism at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb, where as an excellent student she completed a graduate study in Business Economics, a specialist postgraduate study in Tourism Management and a University postgraduate doctoral study in Business Economics. She received her master's degree on the topic "Visual identity and image of a tourist destination", and her doctorate on the topic "The influence of social media on the process of choosing a tourist destination".
In 2008, she was employed at Centar banka d.d. in Zagreb, and a year later at the Faculty of Economics - Zagreb. At his home faculty, she teaches the courses Social media management in tourism, Tourism, Transport Policy in Tourism, Operation of passenger transportation companies, Tourism promotion, and Air transport management. In addition to her home college, she also taught at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management, University of Houston, and may others around the world.
She is the winner of the Zagreb County scholarship based on the criterion of excellence, and several scholarships of the University of Zagreb for scientific training abroad: University of Houston, USA; Coimbra College of Education, Portugal; Le Harve University, France; Athens Institute for Education and Research, Greece, etc.
She is the author and co-author of a large number of scientific and professional papers, as well as book chapters. She is a reviewer for leading world magazines in the field of tourism and management such as Tourism Management. She participates in scientific research projects ("Market research in the function of the development of specific forms of tourism in Croatia", "The role of controlling and IT support in non-financial reporting in tourism" and "Tourist destination branding: analysis of brand success in the context of the destination branding process"), professional workshops, seminars, international gatherings, forums and educational programs organized by prominent universities, professional societies and companies (Europe Travel Commission, IEDC Bled School of Management, IJAS, Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia, University of Zagreb, UNWTO, etc.).
