Anto Bajo, PhD

Anto Bajo graduated and received M.S. from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Zagreb; Ph.D. from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2006. He attended professional courses in the USA (Harvard University, J. F. Kennedy School of Government), Hungary, South Africa, Japan and Slovenia. He is senior researcher at the Institute of Public Finance in Zagreb and professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business at Zagreb University teaching courses «Public Finance» and “Local Government Finance”, “Public debt management” and “Public expenditure management”. Bajo was member of “Advisory Council of Higher Education and Science Funding” of The Agency for Higher education and Science, member of “Budget and Finance Committee” of Croatian Parliament. He has published a number of scientific papers in Croatian and international scientific journals and books (Financing Higher Education, and Science, 2003; Budgetary System Management, 2006, Local Government Finance in Croatia, 2008, Public debt management, 2011). Since 2015 He is president of Statistical Council of the Republic of Croatia. His main fields of interest include public finance management, budget system, fiscal federalism and financial restructuring of public enterprises.
