On January 21, 2019, at the Faculty of Economics & Business, the opening of the postgraduate university doctoral study Economics and Global Security was held.
The third generation of PhD students, lecturers and the Faculty management attended the opening. The Head of the study Prof. Tonći Lazibat, PhD welcomed present and gave the word to the Rector of the University of Zagreb Prof. Damir Boras, PhD and Prof. Jurica Pavičić, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Business who also expressed welcome to the students. In addition, they emphasized the importance of a PhD program which offers new research opportunities to attending students thus confirming the status of the Faculty of Economics & Business as a leading institution of higher education and the place where innovative study programs are developed, that follow trends in the world market and enable the development of top experts of various profiles. After the introductory words of the rector and dean, the Head of the study Prof. Tonći Lazibat, PhD presented the entire program and lecturers of the study. The protocollary part of the opening was followed by the informal socialization of the doctoral students and lecturers.
Doctoral program The Economics and Global Security is the first interdisciplinary study of this type in Croatia, and along professors of the Faculty of Economics & Business are participating as lecturers professors from many other higher education institutions, including the Faculty of Political Science and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, of the University of Zagreb.
