Call for Application for Konstanz Summer School "Experimental Methods in Social Sciences" (EMSS 2012)

We would like to inform you that the University of Konstanz is offering an intensive interdisciplinary Summer School of Experimental Methods in Social Sciences (EMSS) for the first time this year.

The Summer School will take place from the 6 - 17 August, 2012 at the University of Konstanz in Germany and will be taught in English by experienced researchers of the faculties of Economics (Applied Research in Economics) and Sociology (Empirical Social Research).

The Summer School is ideal for advanced Bachelor’s and Master’s students, and young researchers and professionals from all over the world working in the fields of sociology, political science and economics or of neighbouring disciplines – in particular with an interdisciplinary focus – who wish to improve their quantitative research method skills in social science.

The 2-week full-day courses with small class sizes (max. 25 participants) combines theoretical classroom lectures, software-based classes (free or open-source softwares R, z-Tree), case studies and teamwork, and gives the participants hands-on experience to conduct their own experiments.

A leisure programme with social and cultural events, and sightseeing visits in the sunny region at the heart of Europe complements the curriculum.
