Lecture - Results of the project "Economic Problems under the Magnifying Glass: Let's Ask the Quantifiers"

Within the Seminar on Mathematical Programming and Game Theory, on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at 12:15, a lecture will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb in Hall 26. The lecture is entitled Results of the Project "Economic Problems under the Magnifying Glass: Let's Ask the Quantifiers"

The lecture will be delivered by Assist. Prof. Margareta Guardian Kedžo, Ph.D., and project members Assist. Prof. Vedran Kojić, Ph.D. and Assist. Ivana Lolić, Ph.D. from the Faculty of Economics & Business - Zagreb.

Abstract:
Today, young people are exposed daily to various information in the field of economics, both about the state of the economy and those concerning the management of personal finances. In order that the young person would be able to make good spending and savings decisions, it is desirable to understand the quantitative context of those decisions as well. The project "Economic Problems Under the Magnifying Glass: Let's Ask the Quantifiers", supported by the Ministry of Science and Education as part of the broader project Popularization of Science, covers the selection and elaboration of selected topics in financial mathematics, applied statistics and optimization in economics that are common in everyday life. Within the Seminar for Mathematical Programming, Assistant Professor Margareta Guardian Kedžo, Ph.D., and members Assist. Prof. Vedran Kojić, Ph.D. and Assist. Ivana Lolić, Ph.D. will talk about the results of the project.
