Guest lecture “Circular Economy from Concept to Implementation - Application for Croatia Based on American Experience”

Department of International Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business – Zagreb marking the 99th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics and Business invites you to a lecture by
Mr. Björgvin Sævarsson, founder and CEO of the Yorth Group and a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Expert Network, on:

“Circular Economy from Concept to Implementation - Application for Croatia Based on American Experience”

Mr. Sævarsson will discuss the key components of a restorative infrastructure: energy, water, waste/materials, urban food production, mobility, and social infrastructure and will further explain how these siloes can be integrated to produce outcomes that otherwise are not possible: Local economic development and resilience, massive green job creation, social housing, energy/water/ food security, habitat restoration through green and blue infrastructure, -- all from converting waste to value/liabilities to assets. Importantly, the presentation will demonstrate how we measure and define success beyond financial means alone including specific examples of how we can help Zagreb and Croatia save tremendous costs while being able to establish a new ‘restorative economy’.

The lecture will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019, at 4 p.m. in Hall 3 of the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb.
