Since accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, Croatia needs professionals who know and understand how that international organization operates. Contemporary experts in European affairs and the institutions must have the knowledge and skills of European law and economics, and this is exactly what this University Specialist Studies offer.

Ability of communication in the European market provides the advantages to the personal progress in one's career in the institutions of the European Union and Republic of Croatia. Furthermore, European standards and criteria are already applied in business and institutional activities in the domestic and international affairs, but they are insufficiently understood and known. Therefore we invite you to join this Master programme.


OBJECTIVES OF STUDY

Specialist Degree in "Legal and Economic Framework of Business in the EU" provides the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary for understanding of EU law. Moreover, it provides deepening of knowledge in economic and legal actions in the EU and possibility of doing business as private enterprises and/or being part of the state administration. Upon completion of all obligations stipulated in the Master, students acquire the title specialist (spec. oec.).


TERMS OF ENROLLMENT

Candidates who have completed any tertiary studies of at least eight or more semesters may enroll. Priority in enrollment will have candidates with a higher average grade of 3.50 or equivalent grade. Candidates with a lower average grade of 3.50, but certainly above the average grade 3.00, will be enrolled with the recommendation of two professors and/or researchers. Maximum number of students enrolled in one generation is 40.
Students who have not completed economic or related faculties, shall before taking the first examination, have to take the general courses "Macroeconomics" and "Microeconomics", as well as courses "Commercial Law" and "Law of International Trade", if they have not taken them (under the conditions that determine the University Council of Faculty of Economics in Zagreb). Students take these courses together with courses from the first semester.


GENERAL INFORMATION AND THE REGIME OF THE STUDY

Duration: 2 semesters.
In the first semester, students take 4 compulsory courses.
In the second semester students select 5 elective courses and write a paper.
In order to start with a specialist's thesis it is necessary to pass all compulsory and elective courses. The maximum length of time from the beginning to the end of study is 3 years.

Teaching will be done by Professors from the Faculty of Economics and Business, guest lecturers, representatives of foreign organizations, foreign lecturers, businessmen, judges and others. As an integral part of the study, round tables and discussions of cases (case-study) will be organized.
Classes will be held in cycles, 1 week each month, from Monday to Friday from 16 – 21PM.


PRICE
Tuition fee amounts to 5.375,27 EUR, with the option of paying in two installments.
