Biography

Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Zagreb University, in 1976. He attained his LL M at the Faculty of Law, Osijek University, in 1995, and his LL D at the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo in 2000, thesis title, The Legal and Economic Aspects of Privatisation in Transition Countries (the diploma was validated at the Faculty of Law, Osijek University, in 2003). Passed the civil service examination in 1978, the bar examination in 1979 and the notary public examination in 1998. In 2012 he was elected to the scientific title scientific associate.

In 1987 he was enrolled in the register of attorneys and continuously, until his election as judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia (2007-2016), worked as an attorney representing clients in a large number of criminal, civil and constitutional-law proceedings, and in proceedings before military courts and disciplinary bodies. As of 2013 he teaches Commercial Law at the Department of Law, Faculty of Economics & Business, Zagreb University.

He has published many research and professional papers in civil procedural law, civil law, administrative and commercial law. He has participated at many congresses and seminars in Croatia and abroad.
