Biography
Associate professor Dajana Barbić graduated in 2008 at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. During her studies, she was a participant in "Economics and Business International Program". She received three Dean's awards, Rector's Award and scholarship of City of Zagreb for outstanding academic success. In July 2011 she completed the postgraduate study "Financial Institutions Management" at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. In November 2014, she defended her doctoral thesis "Linking the concept of financial literacy with the successfulness in managing personal finances" at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb   (mentor: Prof. Marijana Ivanov). Since 2008 she worked as a junior researcher on the project of the Ministry of science, education, and sports "Market-based models of financing public-interest activities". Since March 2016 she has been employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Finance, at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. She participates in the following courses: "Public Finance", "Personal Finance", "Monetary Policy" and "Croatian Tax System". Since 2014 she participates in the project of Croatian science foundation "Statistical Modeling for Response to Crisis and Economic Growth in the Western Balkan Countries". She participated in several projects of the University of Zagreb, and, on the international project of CERGE-EI-Foundation: GDN Research Competition "Financial literacy and the effect of financial training: A randomized field experiment in Croatia". In 2016/2017 she participated in the bilateral project of Serbia and Croatia "Financial literacy and consumer socialization of children". She is a member of the Management Board of the Institute for Financial Education "Štedopis" where she actively participates in the programs of financial education. She is one of the authors of the high school personal finance textbook "My money, my future."  In 2013 and 2014 within the ERASMUS project, she participated in a professional visit to the Wirtschaftsuniversitat in Vienna, and the University of Salento in Lecce. She published a significant number of scientific and professional papers by herself, or in co-authorship. She is a member of the Croatian Operational Research Society and regularly attends scientific and professional workshops. She participates in domestic and international scientific conferences. So far, she reviewed several scientific papers. She is active in English, and passive in Spanish and Italian.
