On this occasion, the guests presented a special thanks to Dean Žager for the generous support and contribution to the development of mutual cooperation and a gratitude for the solidarity on the occasion of receiving 40 Macedonian students to study after a strong earthquake hit Macedonia in 1963.
In this earthquake, there were more than a thousand dead, a few thousands injured, and the city of Skopje was completely destroyed.
The Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb took in about 40 students from Macedonia, of the 524 enrolled that year.
To this date, students from the Generation '63 nurture and develop friendly relations. Four years ago, in a several-day visit to their Macedonian colleagues, were former Croatian students from the Zagreb FEB. Together they marked anniversaries of their generation, from admission to the faculty, to their graduation.
On those humane, friendly foundations continues an institutional cooperation between the two institutions - the Faculty of Economics in Skopje and the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb.
