1. Introduction to data warehousing. 2. Internal and external sources of data. 3. Data structure in data warehouse. 4. On line analytical processing (OLAP). 5. Data warehouse development. 6. Data warehouse applications. |

Description of general and specific competences (knowledge and skills) to be developed by this course: | |
Students are introduced to the purpose, usage and structure of the data warehouse, analytical processing and the processes of the data warehouse development. Students gain specific knowledge on OLAP tools and on analytical applications. | |
Teaching methods: | |
Lectures, seminars, exercises, group project development and project presentations. | |
Additional requirements for students: | |
Active in-class participation. Keeping up-to-date with the current literature. Internet research. Visiting the companies for project development purposes. | |

Student assessment will be conducted throughout the teaching process (lectures, seminars, individual work on particular problem) and written exam. |
