Croatian Mind to Croatia - triumph of students of the Faculty of Economics & Business

The fourth award ceremony as part of the Croatian Mind to Croatia project took place at the CineStar Center Branimir in Zagreb on December 11, 2018. The ceremony has gathered a large number of representatives of the business community and educational institutions. The Faculty of Economics & Business could be proud since on great success of its students since all nine finalists were right from our faculty.  
The jury praised all the presented ideas and business plans, and stressed that the decisions were not easy. More than 200 works were received, and prizes were awarded in three categories - Originally Croatian, Entrepreneurial Croatia and Innovative Croatia.
In the category of Originally Croatian, students were asked to develop a new and recognizable product and strategy for its placement on domestic and foreign markets. In the finals were the projects Edušted, Smartfridge and the project Protection behind the block of David Oreskovic and Nikica Mikulic, which eventually won in this category.
In the category of Entrepreneurial Croatia, it was sought for sustainable ideas aimed at discovering new market niches, as well as creating new values that will enhance the already existing entrepreneurial infrastructure. The Smartface project was focused on solving skin problems, DI Box was a postal mail innovator, and Robot X aimed at increasing the quality of life of immobilized persons. The jury acknowledged their message, and the project of Irena Prpic, Marine Previšić and Karle Štimac was proclaimed winner.
In the category of Innovative Croatia finalists were the Crolock, Magic Trash Can and Tril projects. Each of them was focused on a specific problem, and jury agreed that all the ideas were real and innovative. The Magic Trash Can won as an ecological design project, and was designed by students Karla Bakalović, Luka Beljan and Lucija Barić.
The Croatian Mind to Croatia is socially responsible project of Poslovni dnevnik and Večernji list with the aim of rewarding the excellence of Croatian students, as well as encouraging easier inclusion in the national economy system. The aim of the competition is to present the ideas, knowledge and abilities of Croatian students transferred to concrete projects related to three main thematic directions of the national development strategy.
