The Croatian National Science Award is awarded for extraordinary important achievements in the field of scientific research, for the expansion of scientific knowledge and for scientific achievements in the application of scientific research results achieved by scientists, researchers and research assistants. The Croatian National Science Award i awarded in four categories. These are The Life Achievement Award, The Annual Award for Science, The Annual Award for Popularization and Promotion of Science and The Annual Award for Research Assistants.
